Here is where i will be popping off on my random thoughts which come to me. I watch a lot of video essays and i read accademic papers quite often. I love philosophy and sociology and so i normaly read and watch stuff in that field. I will make a link to a youtube playlist with all the ones i find thought provoking. I will probably be discussing the ideads mentioned in those videos most of the time because it feels like that time is actualy usefull to me instead of wasting it on tik tok or reals or shorts or any other short form conten online.
I dispise windows and the enite microsoft corporation with my entire being. the only reason i still use windows is because i have a shitty laptop that does not have enough storage to duel boot linux. i want to duel boot because my university makes us do all our assignments in MS Word. I hate word but i am profficient with it and i have indoctrinated myself into thinking it has the best layout of any other office package. I also dont want to deal with the issues and stress that come with learning a new pplication layout while working on an assignment which is stressful enough.
I hate one drive even more because it just saves shit on the cloud without asking and if you want to deleat it later then it deleats it from your computer. WHY DO I NEED TO BACK UP MY DESK TOP??????????? it litteraly just has shortcuts for apps and when I try to take them off the one drive it wants to deleat the desktop folder from my computer. WHY??????? Another reason to hate one drive is that i have 2 users on my computer, one for lesure and one for work, (its great for productivity) But WHY am i not able to sync the one drive on both users with the same account?
because i cant sync my work profiles files on the could. and the STUPID microsoft corporation fr no cap lost the damn saves from an entire days work. last week i had to retype a 2000 word essay because my computer got an update and didnt save anything i had done. for reference i spam CTRL+SHIFT like my life depends on it. even now i save between every sentance as i write this because it is such a habbit. when i search stuff on google i do it and it gets annoying as hell because it wants to save the HTML page.
if i ever meet the ceo of the microsoft corporation i will bash their skull in with a rock. Any way to curb this stress most of the apps i use now are open source or just not owned by multimillion dollar companies. and i am saving up for a think pad. I want to get one from market place and install linux and then use it for my lesure stuff and then my current laptop can be the windows laptop for work.
I stayed up till past midnight arguing with my brother about why it is stupid to analyse crime statystics through the lense of race. IDK why i had to spend so much time(4 hours) explaining to him why that type of interpritation is harmfull to black people because it justifies segrigatory legislation and beliefs. or in other words IT IS RACIST. and then i had to explain to him why racism was bad. especially when it is legislated, like during apartheid and what is currently going on on Orania,(quite literally an afrikaaner ethno state) because we watched a video on the town where they showed the people living there as people instead of paniting them as racist. They prefaced the video by saying the requierments for living in the town which were; Afrikaans speaking white person of dutch decent who are also a christian. and then they had an interview with the mayor where he was talking about how he isn't racist and that he realy cares for and values communities and all people and that outsiders just come into the town and lable them as racists. they justify themselves as non racist by saying its only racist if you dirrectily harm as specific racial group. I feel like i dont even have to say that it is litteraly peak racism to only allow a certain race of people to live in a town. this goes with out saying but i want to make it 100% clear, I do not like the town of Orania or the beliefs of the people there, i do not think they are evil just that their beliefs are evil. beliefs can change.
I have already written an entire essay on plagiarism and i dont want to type it out again, the tldr is that i feel like plagiarism is the failiure to provide new information or prespective on a topic. I other words, Humans know a lot of stuff and have made a lot of acceademic papers, or movies or art or anythign where plagiarism is important. the point of making anything is to provide a new thing or a different perspective on an existing, all things himans make is an amalgimation of the experiences we have had. and so the things we make are all a mix of things we have experienced which sounds like copying but if you put them in a new context or fresh order you make a new thing. If you fail to make a new thing you just coppied something else and thats plagiarism.
i think that ai is usefull but also dumb as hell, why does it get to replace all the fun and fulfilling things like art and music? cant they use it to mine cobalt or something, isnt the point of ai to make impruve human society or something? idk tho. what i do know is that ai companies are using my data and using it to grow their own data base off it. and i dont really like that.
why did i put plagiarism and ai in the same section, because i ai does not desurve its own catigory and because if you think about it isnt the way ai uses data sets to make a geniral thing the same as how you make stuff which isnt plagiarism? I dont think that ai is plagiarism. but i do think that taking things without premision and then proffeting off of it is bad still, just not plagiarism.
if that last paragraph was confusing to read that is because it is confusing to me as well. midway through writing that i changed my mind on wether or not ai was plagiarism. any way i dont like ai because rich people are stealing my data and making money off it and taking away all the fun jobs. if they used ai to replace child labor in the lithium mines then i would not complain.
